The Lillie Mae Parson Performing Arts Center Drama Classes provide students with a creative and supportive environment where they can build confidence, communication skills, teamwork, and self-expression through the art of theater. Students are introduced to acting techniques, stage presence, character development, improvisation, storytelling, public speaking, and performance preparation while learning how to work collaboratively with others. Our drama program encourages creativity, leadership, empathy, and personal growth while helping students develop valuable life skills that can support academic success, future careers, and everyday confidence both on and off the stage.
The Lillie Mae Parson Performing Arts Center Music Classes provide students with opportunities to explore creativity, self-expression, and cultural appreciation through the power of music. Students are introduced to musical fundamentals such as rhythm, vocal development, performance skills, songwriting, listening skills, and musical collaboration in a fun and encouraging environment. Our music program helps build confidence, discipline, communication, creativity, and teamwork while allowing students to discover their unique talents and develop skills that support personal growth, academic success, leadership, and future opportunities in the arts and entertainment industry.

The Lillie Mae Parson Performing Arts Center Production Classes introduce students to the creative and technical side of the performing arts industry. Students gain hands-on experience in areas such as stage production, event coordination, lighting, sound, media, backstage management, content creation, and creative project planning. Our production program helps students develop leadership, organization, teamwork, problem-solving, and communication skills while exposing them to career pathways within entertainment, media, and event production. Through real-world learning experiences, students are encouraged to build confidence, creativity, professionalism, and valuable skills that prepare them for future educational and career opportunities.

The Lillie Mae Parson Performing Arts Center Writing Classes encourage students to explore their creativity, imagination, and personal voice through storytelling, poetry, scriptwriting, journaling, and creative expression. Students develop important skills in communication, reading comprehension, organization, critical thinking, and self-expression while learning how writing can be used as a powerful tool for confidence, leadership, and personal growth. Our writing program creates a supportive environment where students are encouraged to share their ideas, build creativity, strengthen academic skills, and develop the confidence to express themselves both in school and in everyday life.

The Lillie Mae Parson Performing Arts Center Dance Classes provide students with a fun, creative, and supportive environment where they can express themselves through movement while building confidence, discipline, teamwork, and self-esteem. Students are introduced to various dance styles, choreography, rhythm, stage performance, and creative movement while developing coordination, focus, and physical wellness. Our dance program encourages students to grow artistically and socially while learning valuable life skills such as dedication, communication, leadership, and collaboration that help prepare them for success both on and off the stage.

Visual ArtsThe Lillie Mae Parson Performing Arts Center Visual Arts Classes encourage students to express their creativity, imagination, and emotions through hands-on artistic experiences. Students explore a variety of art forms such as drawing, painting, crafts, mixed media, and design while developing creativity, focus, problem-solving skills, and self-confidence. Our visual arts program provides a supportive environment where students can discover their artistic talents, strengthen fine motor and communication skills, and use art as a positive outlet for self-expression, personal growth, and cultural appreciation.Digital ArtsThe Lillie Mae Parson Performing Arts Center Digital Arts Classes introduce students to creative technology and modern artistic expression through graphic design, digital storytelling, photography, video editing, content creation, and multimedia projects. Students learn how to combine creativity with technology while building valuable skills in communication, design, collaboration, and problem-solving. Our digital arts program helps prepare students for future educational and career opportunities in media, technology, entertainment, and the creative arts industry while encouraging innovation, confidence, and self-expression in a digital world.

Talent Tuesday is a weekly challenge giving students from Jambanjelly Upper Basic School the opportunity to showcase their creativity through singing, dancing, drama, poetry, public speaking, comedy, visual arts, video production, and more. Students submit their creative videos every Tuesday, and two winners are selected each week.
Every participant’s video will also be featured on LMP’s Instagram page, celebrating the talent, courage, and creativity of our Gambian students.
Coming this December, LMP will present a bigger Talent Challenge every Friday throughout the month! Students will be able to submit videos up to 10 minutes long and compete for larger prizes, including phones, art supplies, drama materials, props, and more.

Hi LMP Community, We are thrilled to announce that this year's LMP December Challenge is officially going 100% virtual!
We are bringing the excitement straight to your screens, and we need YOUR help to pick our winners.
Here is how the voting will work this December:🎥 **Saturday Video Drops:** Every Saturday throughout the month of December, we will upload the inspiring challenge videos created by our youth.🗳️ **Public Voting:** The moment the videos go live, the public voting window opens! You will have the power to cast your vote and directly support your favorite youth project.
We will send out the official links and the full December schedule closer to the launch date. For now, mark your calendars for a December filled with youth creativity and community voting! Best,The LMP Team
